Most of our Nitronic 50 & 60 is shaft work. We purchase mostly TGP shafting (turn, ground, & polished). Nitronic 60 is not nice stuff. Machines a little like 17-4, but with other problems. Use a good coated grade of insert with small nose radius. Negative rake or positive/negative tools work best. Speed is roughly 30% of mild steel.
